
Javelina hunts will be conducted in the Trans Pecos region of Texas and they are available on the majority of our properties. Javelina on average weigh 40 to 50lbs with larger trophy boars weighing upwards of 60lbs. Both boars and sows sport sharp javelin type teeth which is where there name derived from. Most are not a fan of eating the meat from a Javelina but with proper care and preparation the meat is actually quite tasty. They also make great European, Shoulder, and full body mounts.

Arizona offers a few hunts to accommodate your favorite method of hunting. The first hunt is archery season, which runs the entire month of January, the next season is the H.A.M. (handgun, archery & muzzleloader) hunt, followed by the General Rifle season, which is the last weekend of February. These hunts have a high success rate. All previous hunts have had 100% opportunity. These hunts are conducted in the mountains of Southern Arizona. Spot and stalk is our preferred method of hunting.

Javelina Hunting in Texas Texas is one of only 4 states that have javelina, or collared peccary. Javelina can be found in the more arid or semi-arid parts of the state including South Texas, West Texas and Central Texas. In Texas, javelina are considered game animals and can be hunted by anyone with a valid Texas Hunting License. There are no “tags” required for javelina hunting, but there is a bag limit of 2 javelina per person per year. In most Texas counties there is no closed season...

Arizona offers javelina seasons during January through February. Javelina can be one of the most enjoyable game animals to hunt in Arizona. They are not pigs, nor are they even in the pig family. They are peccaries. Javelina are gregarious, sociable animals that hang in groups of 5 to 15 animals with a home range of about a square mile. The common name is the "collared peccary" because of a white ring of hair that circles the neck region. Javelina appear to be larger than they really are....
